| Abstract | This dataset provides a one-year record (July 2013 – August 2014) of atmospheric iodine-129 (I-129) and stable iodine (I-127) contamination monitored across nine laboratory rooms at University of Tsukuba. The primary objective was to evaluate environmental contamination risks that could lead to overestimates in high-sensitivity accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) measurements. Utilizing a simple alkaline trap solution method, the dataset captures temporal variations in I-129 contamination rates (atoms cm^-2 day^-1) and I-129/I-127isotopic ratios. The monitored rooms were categorized into five types based on their sample-treatment histories. The data demonstrate that I-129 levels are strongly dependent on room history, with contamination rates ranging from environmental background levels (~10^4 atoms cm^-2 day^-1) to significantly higher levels (10^6–10^7 atoms cm^-2 day^-1) in rooms handling neutron-activated iodine. This dataset serves as a critical reference for validating AMS measurement reliability and assessing laboratory contamination risks. The dataset corresponds to Table 1 and Table S1 of the published study, Matsumura, M., Sasa, K., Matsunaka, T., Sueki, K., Takahashi, T., & Matsuzaki, H. (2020).
