| Abstract | This dataset provides the comprehensive measurement results of radiocarbon (C-14) activities in tree rings compiled in Table 1 of the associated published paper (Matsunaka et al., 2019, DOI: 10.1017/RDC.2019.147). The dataset consists of Fraction modern, C-14 activities, and inferred annual effective doses via the food ingestion pathway. The data tracks the temporal variations from 2008 to 2014 (covering periods of routine operation, the March 2011 accident, and the permanent shutdown of the FDNPP) utilizing samples of alpha cellulose extracted from Japanese cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa) at site NM-1 and Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) at site NM-2. The tree rings, epidermis, and leaves were collected in June 2014 from two distinct restricted areas in Namie, Fukushima Prefecture: site NM-1: 9 km northwest of the FDNPP (37°28′35.4″N, 140°57′21.0″E, 22 m in elevation) and site NM-2: 24 km northwest of the FDNPP (37°33′39.6″N, 140°49′37.8″E, 324 m in elevation). The purified samples were graphitized using an automated pretreatment system, and measurements of C-14/C-12 and C-13/C-12 ratios were subsequently determined by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). | |
