| Abstract | This dataset provides the comprehensive measurement results of stable iodine (127I) and long-lived radioactive iodine (129I) —quantified using ICP-MS and AMS, respectively—as compiled in Tables 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the associated published paper (Matsunaka et al., 2026, DOI: 10.1016/j.nimb.2026.166176). The samples of rockfish (Sebastes cheni) and seawater were collected off the southern coast of Fukushima, Japan, during 2014–2015, following the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. Table 1 contains the sampling metadata, including site locations (S-1 to S-3), sampling dates, coordinates, water depth, and biological characteristics of the rockfish samples (body length, weight, analyzed tissues, and water content). Table 2 presents the vertical distribution of 127I and 129I concentrations, along with 129I/127I atomic ratios, in seawater samples collected in July 2014. Table 3 details the concentrations of 127I, 129I, 134Cs, and 137Cs, as well as the 129I/127I atomic ratios and activity ratios in the rockfish samples (on a dry weight basis). Table 4 evaluates the concentration factors (CFs) of 127I and 129I for rockfish based on the seawater and fish tissue (wet weight basis) data. This dataset serves as a valuable baseline for understanding the long-term environmental behavior, transport, and bioaccumulation processes of radioactive iodine in marine ecosystems post-accident. | |
